Q&A With Capt. Chris Broome

Q: What is the biggest highlight of your tournament fishing career?
A: Winning the 2025 inaugural Everglades Fishing Co tournament with 90”. Was a text book day of fishing with a 38” Snook, 30” Redfish and 22” Trout.

Q: What is your most memorable catch?
A: A 48” snook when I was 13 years old. Going to be hard to beat!

Q: What is your most memorable client catch?
A: On the first guide trip that I ever ran, my client caught a 43” snook on a live shiner. He was an experienced angler, and understood the caliber of fish he just reeled in. He was beyond excited, and still is his personal best. Also was the first catch ever in my guiding career on first charter!

Q: Do you enjoy fishing as much as you enjoy guiding?
A: Without a doubt. I try to fish as much as I can on my days off. Always something to learn out there!

Q: If you could pick one month to fish every day, which month would it be?
A: May-June: Big inshore Snook on the beaches and chance to catch a giant!

Q: What is your favorite fish in the world to fish for?
A: Redfish.

Q: What is your dream fishing location?
A: Costa Rica for billfish and roosterfish.

Q: Music or no music on the boat?
A: My stereo isn’t always on, but when it is, I lean towards classic country.

Q: What is your opinion of bananas?
A: I like bananas because it makes me feel like Mythbusters every time we catch a bunch of fish with them on board.

Q: What can everyone do to help the environment of the Southwest Florida?
A: Everyone can play their part by responsibly dealing with their garbage and picking up any you may come across while outside.
